Wendy’s counters minimum wage increase to $15/hour with self-ordering kiosks in 1000 outlets

You can soon enjoy a Wendy’s Junior bacon cheeseburger without having to interact with anyone. These kiosks are expected to provide multiple benefits. First, being reduced labor costs. The investments on the kiosks will pay for itself within two years of time through saved labor costs easily.

These kiosks will also reduce waiting times in addition to increasing kitchen output during peak crowd times. Wendy’s is looking at installing in 16% of their outlets before the end of 2017. With the kind of interest shown by the franchises, this seems a possibility.

It would increase order accuracy as they are fully automated. About 100 of the 1000 kiosks will be placed in company owned stores with higher-volume stores getting the priority.
