Delhi Police to invest in digital signage boards to make roads safer

Delhi Police will be installing 50 Variable Message Signs (VMS) across Delhi to make the commuters more alert.

These boards are expected to be operational in mid-March. The boards would display information on heavy traffic, route diversions, construction activities and traffic safety messages. These boards will be of varying dimensions and would be mounted at a height for better visibility, based on the localized environment where it is mounted. This is currently functioning at seven locations as a pilot and the rest would be rolled out by the middle of March.

Delhi Polic decided to go digital as this would provide better visibility during the nights. Some of the places where the boards are likely to be installed are Mathura Road, stretches of Ring Road, areas near Palam flyover, Chanakyapuri and Model Town, as these attract heavy traffic at different points in time.
